Founder and Head Storyteller, Liz Birnbaum

Liz has been named one of Silicon Valley Business Journal's 40 under 40, dubbed a Culinary Mastermind by The Good Times newspaper, and has been honored as both Foodie of the Year and Writer of the Year by the Santa Cruz-based NEXTies Awards.

Through her decade-long career in food, Liz has organized the oldest and largest sustainable agriculture conference in the West, traveled to Italy as a U.S. delegate for Slow Food, interviewed farmers coast-to-coast, raised money for organic research, and turned a party trick into a business: The Curated Feast.

Liz also found one of her callings behind the lens. She recently photographed Fruit Trees for Every Garden for Ten Speed Press, has worked with Instagram powerhouse brands to document their culinary travel experiences, and just helped launch one of Business Insider’s Top 25 DTC Brands to Watch in 2022.

Her immersive approach to learning, love of storytelling and art, and deep knowledge of food have compelled Liz to travel a road with many forks. Liz has co-taught college courses on botanical imperialism, food geography, and biodiversity in agriculture. She has also curated more than a dozen exhibits, co-owned an art gallery in Chicago, founded a community farm, and is the chair of the Santa Cruz City Arts Commission

She has been encouraged to explore the world for as long as she can remember, so that is what she continues to do.

Project Manager + Content Specialist, Pearse Anderson

A food writer, journalist, game designer, and baker, Pearse is always curious about food cultures and how to creatively introduce people to the culinary world. At The Curated Feast, he ensures client stories are well communicated and all that we leverage social trends and narratives to make clients’ visions shine.

As a journalist, Pearse has written for The Guardian, Eater, Epicurious, and more, interviewing food experts like Mark Bittman or organizing panels on pie experts for the perfect holiday bake. He has traveled to the Arizona desert to photograph tajine, to Mongolian towns to study lactocolonialism, and the uncharted depths of sexy Colonel Sanders advertising for a Food & Wine article. When not covering food realities, you can often find Pearse developing food science fiction and fantasy.

Pearse taught Food Writing 101 at his alma mater Oberlin College, worked as a PR specialist and intern at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and now lives in Chicago where he makes increasingly complex desserts, sometimes with experimental ingredients.

Wordsmith, Julia Sinn

A writer, events consultant, and yoga teacher by profession, Julia is a creative explorer whose writing work has ranged from pitch decks for tech companies to multi-source magazine interviews. At The Curated Feast, Julia transforms client stories and dreams into website copy, Instagram captions, blogs, press releases, and more.

Graduating into The Great Recession with her trusty English degree (and another in Film Studies for good measure), Julia learned quickly that the best, most fulfilling path forward is usually the least expected. In her first career as a full-time yoga teacher, she learned how heart-shifting experiences are crafted through language, community, and listening.

She moved to California from Pennsylvania in 2011 and stumbled into a robust new career in events and marketing as the Events Manager at a major independent bookstore, a job hooked solely by her obsessive love of books and writing. She went on to run events and outreach for several non-profits, a retreat center, and one of the biggest companies in tech.

After a stint in Silicon Valley, she established herself as a freelance writer and event designer in 2019. She now resides in Bellingham, Washington.
