Aloe Vera: lily of the desert. And according to ancient Egyptians: the plant of immortality.

This spiky healer contains over 200 biologically active, naturally occurring elements which promote a healthy immune system, treat burns, promote digestive health, and reduce harmful toxins.

This is one of the most interesting ancient medicinal plants, with records of its use being recorded in Sumerian clay tablets, ancient Chinese and Egyptian texts, and in tales from Persian Empire and some Native American tribes.

We know that Aloe was used to treat burns, wounds, and reduce fevers. And of course like all beauty legends, the aloe plant connects to the iconic Cleopatra using it in her daily skincare routine. Another legend even states that Alexander the Great lead a conquest to a coastal region in Africa just to secure supplies of aloe vera in order to treat his wounded soldiers.

I hope this post brings healing to all who need it, today.
